Stuart's Model Railway

Header Photo

Please note the railway layout has now found a new home at the Sompting and District Model Railway Club in Lancing, West Sussex. Many thanks to all of those who expressed an interest!

This is the last and most recent model railway layout that my father made, and it's a replica (with some license!) of the Black Country town of Stourbridge in the early 1950s, with Wordsley church and the Red House Glass Cone visible in the backdrop.

This is an N-gauge model railway with a layout size of 33 by 48 inches, and the backdrop board being 8 by 48 inches. Some of the buildings are made from kits, but the rest are all hand-crafted and the railway was researched and designed from scratch. As many people will know, Dad was an artist hence the painted backdrop that continues the layout design into the distance.
